In the afternoon, over a cup of coffee, I asked Gemini artificial intelligence about the statistics of philosophical thought on the war in Ukraine. After torturing Google with riddles like “it begins with Fro, it ends with ggie“, I got basically two categories of philosophers: academic and esoteric. I simply cut military analysts out of the analysis as irrelevant. I put them together in a table and evaluated the directions of philosophical thought by eye. It turned out to be interesting.

The academic category (unexpectedly for me) is more widely represented and, as it turns out, focuses on the struggle between good and evil, plays on the finitude of Muscovites and the coolness of us, Ukrainians. Our identity, and so on. In some ways, this can be explained by the duty of official science to support the narratives of official propaganda that are positive for Ukraine.

Gemini likes the esoteric category much less because these types are unscientific. After cutting off the tarot card readers and other seers I don’t understand from the esoteric group, I settled on a handful of those who ask themselves where to go next There are very few of them. And all of it is unscientific, or rather non-academic, bullshit.

And only non-academic nonsense has an unusually broad framework for analysing causes and effects, as well as recipes for the future life (development) of society. The academic sphere (according to a superficial review of topics) is focused on the old, traditional worldview framework and has no solutions for further development. Development in the sense of fundamental changes that exclude the conditions of eternal struggle and eventual self-destruction of the population of this planet.

Conclusions:

  1. Ethotherics win in the long run over academics, which is confirmed by my extremely biased and superficial analysis of the generalisations issued by artificial intelligence. Non-academic science currently looks more promising for the preservation of humanity than academic science.
  2. Given paragraph one, without a fundamental change in worldview, humanity risks ridding the Earth of its presence, leaving behind only cockroaches, worms and rats.
  3. On this site, we are moving in the right direction! Maybe we are not moving much, but at least we are directed the right way! Self-motivation is needed from time to time. We encourage everyone to look in this direction. At least take an interest!
